How to Use the Fantasy Football Trade Calculator
How to Add Players and Picks to a Trade
To build a trade, start by choosing your league settings, including league type, number of teams, scoring format, salary cap, and calculator mode. Then use the Team A and Team B search boxes to add players or draft picks to each side of the deal.
In Contract League mode, player salaries and years remaining can be entered before adding the player to the trade. This helps the calculator account for contract value, salary efficiency, and contract risk. In Dynasty mode, the tool uses a fixed dynasty cap baseline, so salaries and years are ignored while player and pick values are compared directly.
As assets are added, each side of the trade updates automatically. Player cards show trade value, asset tier, and contract indicators where applicable, making it easier to see not only which side has more total value, but also what type of value each team is receiving.
Trade Fairness Meter
The Trade Fairness Meter gives a quick visual read on which side of the deal is favored. Team A and Team B values are compared after the calculator applies adjusted trade-value logic, and the meter moves toward the side receiving more value.
A balanced trade will stay near the center of the meter, while a lopsided trade will push the marker closer to Team A or Team B. The percentage split below the meter shows how much of the adjusted trade value belongs to each side, making it easy to understand the overall balance of the offer.
This is especially useful for fantasy football trades involving multiple players or picks. A three-for-one package may look close by raw value, but the fairness meter helps show whether the package truly matches the value of the best asset in the deal.
Adjusted Trade Score
The adjusted trade score is designed to make trade analysis more realistic. In fantasy football, five low-value assets are not always equal to one elite player, even if the raw totals appear similar. The adjusted score accounts for that by applying tier-aware logic to each side of the trade.
Elite and star players are protected at full value, while lower-tier depth and rotational assets can be discounted when they are included as part of larger packages. Draft picks pass through at face value, and minimum-tier filler players may contribute little or no adjusted trade value.
This helps the calculator avoid overvaluing quantity over quality. It can still recognize legitimate consolidation trades, such as multiple strong starters or stars for one elite player, while reducing the impact of low-end filler assets added only to inflate a trade package.
Download Trade Card Copy
Once your trade is built, use the Download Trade Card button to create a clean, shareable image of the trade results. The trade card includes both teams, the assets involved, each side’s adjusted trade value, the overall verdict, and the trade balance score.
The downloadable card is ideal for sharing trade offers with league mates, posting trade debates, saving trade evaluations, or keeping a record of potential deals. It gives you a polished snapshot of the trade without needing to screenshot the full calculator page.
Trade Analysis
The Trade Analysis section gives a front-office style summary of the deal. It highlights the highest-value asset, compares how many assets each team receives, notes draft capital differences, and identifies potential contract risk in Contract League mode.
This section is built to help managers understand the “why” behind the trade result. Instead of only showing numbers, the analysis explains the structure of the deal so you can quickly see whether one team is receiving the best player, more depth, more picks, or more contract risk.
